Sustainability Committee

OCAD U has set a strategic priority of developing and implementing an institution-wide sustainability plan. The Sustainability Committee meets on a quarterly basis; its goal is to achieve widespread participation and to inform and advance high-level organizational change strategies. 

The Sustainability Committee informs and reviews the development of sustainability policy, institutional plans, objectives and targets for senior leadership approval. This includes developing and overseeing multi-year sustainability plans and making recommendations on sustainability to be integrated into institutional plans. The Committee recommends a framework for change, monitors and evaluates progress, and supports and advances institution-wide integration of sustainability principles and current initiatives into all aspects of University business.

The Sustainability Committee works to advance a vision of just sustainability that foregrounds equity and creates new ways of understanding and acting to strengthen communities, build social capacity and economic strength, and promote positive transformation and change.
