Ceremony & Reception for Indigenous Graduates

Indigenous OCAD U graduates, family and friends, are invited to join the Indigenous Student Centre for a reception during Convocation in the Pickering Room of Roy Thomson Hall. Catered food will be provided, and a photographer will be available to take photographs of graduates along with their friends and families. Indigenous OCAD U graduates have the option of receiving a gift on stage during the convocation ceremony. Details are shared in the winter semester.

Traditional Regalia

OCAD University respects the wishes of Indigenous (First Nations, Inuit and Métis) graduands and faculty who choose to wear traditional regalia to a convocation ceremony. All First Nations, Inuit and Métis graduands are welcome to wear traditional regalia in place of an academic gown and do not have to rent a gown or pay the rental fee for the gown. This has been included in the convocation policies.
