Featured Instructor

Aisha Ali is a textile artist specializing in slow processes of textile and garment construction such as hand sewing. Aisha’s work emphasizes craftsmanship and collaborative processes and often makes use of convenient materials, including repurposing existing garments and using the fur of animals that they live with. Aisha works as a wig alteration and repair specialist in costumes with the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees (IATSE). Aisha received an MFA in Interdisciplinary Art, Media, and Design from OCAD U and teaches Sewing Skills courses in SCS.

Featured Student

Frances V. Reilly is a comics artist/illustrator and historian based in Toronto. She works in watercolours, gouache, and pen and ink. Her debut graphic novel The Harrowing Tales of La Corriveau was released this past spring during the Toronto Comic Arts Festival. Frances took the SCS courses, Comics and Graphic Novels Studio and Children’s Book Illustration Studio.
