Patricia Wheeler (AOCA, Communication & Design, 1955)

I am from London Ontario. I Studied Art at Alma College St. Thomas, fine art and H. B. Beal Cl. London special Art and decided to transfer into 2nd year at OCA.

My fondest memory of my time at OCA is meeting my husband, and lifelong friends, (most gone now).

What I learned at OCAD and still use today are the skills from having studied anatomy, I still go to life drawing when a class is nearby. 

Today, I’m a retired cartoonist: My work was featured in the Toronto Star for 5 years in the 80’s and various local newspapers for 40 years. I also created fashions for Sears in the ‘50s and ‘60s.

My advice for current students is enjoy every minute of whatever you are creating.
