In memory of Bill Wheeler (AOCA, Advertising & Illustration, 1955)
as told by Patricia Wheeler
Bill – from Thunder Bay – was always drawing – His Dad was the Architect for Port Arthur.
His fondest memory of OCA was making good friends.
He developed a strong passion during his time at OCA and throughout life was always sketching and drawing every chance he got.
Bill has passed but had an extensive and celebrated career. He is in the Aviation Hall of Fame. He was the volunteer Editor and an Artist for the Canadian Aviation Historical Society for over 50 years. He retired as Art Head at West Hill C. T. where he sent many students to OCA.
I think his advice for current students would be to keep a sketch book going. They are great to look back at.
