What Program did you graduate from and when?
Integrated Media, 2010
What is your current title or role? (ie. freelance designer, art practitioner, etc.)
Senior Motion designer at Experience Design
Why did you choose to attend OCAD U?
I thought it was a perfect fit for me! I used to live in Vancouver and was looking for a university or college for design in Canada.
Please briefly describe your current job/practice.
As a motion designer, I’ve worked with UX designers, engineers and project managers to support product development with design concepts, exploration of new user experiences and created demo videos to illustrate new product ideas.
How did you get started in your career?
My career journey has taken me from my first role as an animator making graphics for TV shows at the post-production company Cineflix in Toronto; to a motion designer at Amazon Prime video; to my current role working in-house for the Experience team at Yoox Net-a-Porter.
What were your policies regarding internships, volunteering, and paid work?
I would suggest doing as much interning and volunteering as you can in the beginning. I also found that collaborating with other designers and artists is a great opportunity to learn how to work with others.
What do you enjoy most about your work? What is the most challenging aspect of your work?
Bringing ideas into life is what I enjoy most. Needing to be good at various things as a motion designer e.g. 3D, 2D, VFX, etc. is where the difficulty lies, but this means I can work on many interesting things and will never get bored of what I do.
What skills or relationships developed at OCAD U helped you participate in your field? Is there anything you would have done differently?
I’d have participated more in collaborating with other students, done more internships, and prepared my portfolio differently.
What are the key responsibilities you maintain for your practice?

What are your personal and professional goals for the coming years?
Moving out of digital screen and expand my experience into designing physical spatial practice. Something bridging the gaps between physical and digital products.
