THIRDSPACE: Emerging Artist Summer Intensive Program is a new month-long artist residency at OCAD University, launching next June 2025. Designed for interdisciplinary emerging artists, this immersive summer program welcomes individuals at the early stages of their careers or those seeking to explore new directions in their creative practices.
Program Highlights:
Work with a Renowned Artist-in-Residence: Be guided by an established Toronto-based, internationally recognized artist as you deepen your creative practice within a thematic framework.
Studio Access and Exhibition Opportunities: Enjoy a full month of open studio access, as well as use of OCAD U’s specialized facilities.
Explore Art and Culture in Toronto: Immerse yourself in the vibrant artistic community of Toronto while engaging with its cultural scene.
Show Your Work: Participate in a final exhibition showcasing your work to the public.
Who Should Apply?
This program is designed for visual artists and designers who are in the final stages of their formal post-secondary education or training, have gained equivalent experience through independent practice, cultural or traditional knowledge, and are recognized by their peers as emerging talents.

Current undergraduate or graduate students
Recent graduates
Early-career practicing artists and designers
Artists and designers seeking to explore new creative directions.
