In Spring/Summer Terms 2023, students travelled to three countries, experiencing three different cultures. The first experience was led by Professor Michael Lee Poy, as a Special Topics Class focusing on Natural Building and Carnival Architectonics at Wa Samaki Ecosystems in Trinidad & Tobago. This was a land-based program situated at 35-acre permaculture farm in Freeport. The second experience was led by Faculty member Anda Kubis, rooted in an intensive cultural immersion looking at Oaxacan art, craft, design principals and techniques in Oaxaca, Mexico. The third experience was led by Professor Ian Keteku, in a Decolonized Field Study to Ghana, Africa. Students engaged in research and development of literary pieces in a variety of outputs and locations across Accra.
