With the release of Modelling International Collaborations in Art Education by Intellect Books (UK/Chicago), the authors and contributors will hold a Symposium on August 29 at OCADU during the Fall Orientation week.
The session will include presentations by Peter Sramek (OCADU), Giselle Mira-Diaz (Indiana University NW), Sofia Sienra (Universidad Autonoma del Estado de México), Walter Bergmoser (University of Europe for Applied Sciences, Berlin) and a panel of alumni of the INTAC program.
The format will include thematic presentations related to the chapters of the book along with discussion and questions. Copies of the book will be available for sale with a 30% discount both at the Symposium and at a table outside the auditorium, MCA190 on Wednesday, August 28.
OCAD U has been a core member of the INTAC program since its inception in 2010 and this book explores online and in-person collaboration as a means of international experience for university art students. Based on a decade of experience, pedagogical and methodological topics are illustrated with student projects, inspiring reflection on teaching and artmaking strategies in online spaces, across cultures and languages from both the educator/facilitator and student perspectives.
