In dialogue with the current global climate crisis, Between Ashes and Dreams invites artists to engage with concepts surrounding the asymmetrical experiences of climate change, reflecting on their positioning within the Global North. Artists are invited to submit work that considers migratory histories and propose alternative futures. Work may explore sustainability in concept and/or materiality, resilience, coexistence, entanglement, and futuristic possibilities. Artists are encouraged to reflect on the forces driving environmental change, climate disruption, habitat destruction, and biodiversity shifts, but to also think beyond human action through considering the roles of non-human beings as interwoven to the narrative of the current period and possible futures.

Between Ashes and Dreams seeks not only to explore the profound impacts of climate change, but also to engage in action and envision fantastical or imaginary futures. Submissions should critically engage with the underlying socio-political and economic forces of the global climate crisis and reflect on the complexities of this urgent topic.
