Charles Reeve is Associate Dean of Arts & Science and Professor of Visual and Critical Studies at OCAD University. He is the author of Artists and their Autobiographies from Today to the Renaissance and Back (Routledge, 2022), co-editor, with Samir Gandesha, of To Hell with Poverty: Gang of Four's politics and philosophy (Bloomsbury, forthcoming), co-editor, with Rachel Epp Buller, of Inappropriate Bodies: art, design, and maternity (Demeter, 2019) and co-producer, with Epp Buller and Elena Marchevska, of the podcast "Renewing the World," which explores the contemporary culture of maternality and mothering. He has written widely on modern and contemporary art and culture for such publications as frieze, Art History, RACAR, Biography, a/b, the London Review of Books, the Literary Review of Canada and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and curated exhibitions featuring such prominent artists and designers as Jess Dobkin, Karim Rashid, Rirkrit Tirivanija and Adel Abdessemed. He is on the steering committee of the Scholars at Risk—Canada Network and is a past president of Continuum Contemporary Music, the OCAD University faculty union and l’Association d’art des universités du Canada/the Universities Art Association of Canada.
