As the holiday gift-giving season approaches it’s the perfect time to boost your art sales. Mix and mingle with arts community members on Partial’s platform, share tips for selling artwork, hear about the art buyer’s journey, and come away with a clearer sense of how to boost your profile during the sales season.

The event starts with a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by CEAD with Esther DOË Kim, an OCAD U Showcase Artist who is successfully using Partial to generate sales and rentals, and Regina Sheung, a Toronto-based art collector and retail visionary. We will discuss Partial’s specialty in online art sales, tips on how to use the platform to give buyers and curators a clear sense of your work and practice, and how to effectively present your art online to start selling during the holiday season and beyond.

Stick around after the panel to connect with the speakers, fellow attendees, and OCAD U peers. Light refreshments will be served.

Speaker Bios:

Regina Sheung: From Busgirl to Retail Visionary

Regina Sheung is a retail visionary behind two of Toronto's most beloved shops, Propaganda and Labour of Love.  With a passion for design, curation, and visual merchandising, her insights have been featured in CBC, the Toronto Star, She Does The City, and Young Women In Business. A reluctant style icon, she was also nominated for The Globe and Mail's Canada's Best Dressed in 2019.

Regina's journey into retail began in the late 1970’s Hong Kong as a busgirl at her grandparents' restaurant.  She then honed her customer service skills during summer jobs on the Hong Kong high street for iconic brands like Emporio Armani and Issey Miyaki.

Moving to Toronto in the early 1990s, she immersed herself in the city's vibrant retail scene, working for Storm of London and leading the opening of their North American flagship store. Regina's entrepreneurial spirit took flight a few years later with Propaganda, a Yonge Street boutique that quickly became a neighborhood favorite for its unique clothing, accessories, and gifts.

From 2010 to 2024, Regina was the force behind Labour of Love, a diverse concept store; event space and beloved Cabbagetown community hub for art exhibitions, pop-ups, book signings, cooking demos, and workshops.

DOË Esther Kim is a South Korean Canadian raised in Vancouver and currently a Toronto-based Artist. She majored in a Bachelor of Fine Arts from OCAD University (Ontario College of Art and Design University). Kim received The Power Plant Emerging Artist Award at the Toronto Art Fair in 2022 and The Best of Painting Award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair in 2021.

Kim’s art captures the essence of simple moments in life, particularly in nature and within her family, inviting viewers to escape the complexities of life and reflect on the themes of family, home, and the natural world. Inspired by the concept of Biophilia, her work aims to create a sense of belonging by depicting elemental beauty.
