Virtual Art Therapy Group for OCADU Students

Art therapy combines visual art techniques with psychotherapy. In the OCAD U Art Therapy Group, students will be introduced to art therapy techniques that can help them find individualized and creative ways of reducing stress. This group provides students with a space for self-expression, self-exploration, connection with peers, and stress-reduction in a non-judgmental environment.

Roger Remington and Sheila Pontis, Ph.D., reveal the life, work, and mindset of Will Burtin. Taking a deep dive into nine of his most important projects, the authors show how his design strategies helped explain everything from the human cell to military equipment to the workings of the brain. In an era when science and our understanding of the world is more complex than ever, Burtin’s mindset and process is a timely framework for designers challenged with making complex concepts accessible and presenting sophisticated ideas to a broad audience without sacrificing nuance or depth.

OCAD University is inviting students to attend a town hall about OCAD U's future on Tuesday, November 23, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. 

The University is undergoing an Academic and Strategic Planning process to set the direction for the University and provide the framework for planning across all of the University’s activities.

Based on the input from students, staff and faculty in a questionnaire sent in October, a number of key themes regarding our future context and how we need to respond as a community have emerged. The intent of the town hall is to work together to co-create responses to the themes from the questionnaire to identify student priorities in shaping the future of the University.
