Coffee Chats is a series of casual gatherings with the CEAD team with industry guests. Hosted virtually and in-person in small intimate groups, these gatherings will provide a space for group conversations with practitioners who are interested in supporting OCAD U students and grads to offer mentorship, and share their professional insights and journey, while collectively creating an online community.

OCAD University is working on a project to incubate and develop a platform cooperative that helps artists and designers grow their business online, while developing creative entrepreneurship skills.This interactive session allows you to hear from students and alumni currently involved in bringing the project to life, as well as an opportunity for you to join in the discussion.
OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers (CEAD) and the Clark Centre for the Arts have partnered to co-create a Career Launcher for Curators and Cultural Producers. The opportunity will select one (1) emerging curator/cultural producer to coordinate an exhibition at the Clark Centre for the Arts for June of 2023 in their Gallery 191 space.

Hosted by the RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers, this workshop will introduce emerging artists and designers to the Business Model Canvas (BMC) while also providing the opportunity to gain feedback and advice from entrepreneur Jaymin Luces-Mendes. You will have the time to think and develop ideas for your creative business, work on your own BMC, engage in discussion with other attendees, and receive mentorship from Jaymin.

Artists Jordan Bennett and Natalie King’s artworks are grounded in Indigenous pride and joy. Their use of vibrant colour, symbology and connections to the land, water and sky reflect their Mi’kmaq and Anishinaabe histories, present and future.

The opportunity will select six (6) emerging designers, representing different practices, and a diverse range of voices and approaches for ROM’s fall 2022 exhibition, Canadian Modern.
