About Us

OCAD U LiVE is a resource available to students at OCAD University. This platform is an on-demand video channel, production house, and content creator studio featuring original media produced by the student body. Since its inception in 2020, participating students have produced a wide variety of programs including talk shows, cooking shows, fitness shows and music shows, with new content constantly being curated. The ever-growing variety of programs reflects the vast diversity and climate of inclusion within our student body.

In addition to encouraging creative expression and building a vibrant community, OCAD U LiVE provides a practical and valuable professional experience. At OCAD U LiVE, all content creators are paid for the episodes they submit. Students are provided access to studio space, equipment, training, mentoring and networking sessions, giving them the tools they need to succeed in the film/media industry.

In 2023, OCAD U LiVE launched a production house in which students are paid to work with both internal and external clients, creating original content for them. This includes social media videos, highlight reels, live steams and other types of commissioned projects. We have worked with a variety of clients including TIFF, Secret City Adventures, Toronto West BIA, Fan Expo Canada, and the Centre for Mindfulness Studies.

OCAD U LiVE is an innovative model for fostering talent, gaining valuable professional experience, and building a strong community of dedicated creative minds.
