OCAD University responds to ‘Health and Safety Checklist for University Re-opening’

Last month, OCAD University’s Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) made a recommendation to the University to provide a written response to the Health and Safety Checklist for University Re-opening, a document compiled by public health experts at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health who serve on the University of Toronto Faculty Association side of the University of Toronto Central Health and Safety Committee. The checklist was provided by acoalition representing faculty, librarians, counsellors, and staff across four Toronto-area universities, including OCAD U, and raised for discussion at OCAD U’s JHSC.

OCAD University’s protocols and safety requirements have been developed using Toronto Public Health’s guidelines for the post-secondary education sector, provincial COVID-19 legislation, guidelines provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada, and through best practice consultations with universities in the GTA, across Ontario, Canada, and North America.
