OCAD University has been advised of a planned power outage on May 6 that will require closure of several campus buildings. 

Since this outage impacts lighting, elevators, air conditioning and domestic hot water, the University is closing the following buildings for the entire day:

  • 49 McCaul St.
  • 51 McCaul St.
  • 113 McCaul St. (includes Learning Zone)
  • 122 St. Patrick St. (includes Learning Zone)

As result, there will be no access to these buildings. We recommend you remove any items or belongings you may need before the closure.

All buildings will reopen on May 7 at 7:30 a.m.

Copy & Print Services (51 McCaul St.):

  • Please note there will be no production between 5:30 p.m. on May 5 until 8:30 a.m. on May 7.
  • Order pick-up will be temporarily available at 115 McCaul St., 2nd floor, on May 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Regular operations will resume on Wednesday May 7, and all orders will be subject to longer than normal turnaround times.

Running from June to December 2025, this initiative is designed to empower early-stage creative businesses across a spectrum of disciplines—including visual art, cultural production, design fields, media production, social enterprise, technology-enabled services and more. Through mentorship, the program aims to bridge the gap between ideas and successful business ventures.
