Flu season is here! OCAD U has teamed up with Rexall and Studentcare to host a pop-up flu shot clinic on campus on Thursday, December 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for students, faculty and staff.

When

Thursday, December 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Where

Room 284, 100 McCaul St.

How

Sign up in advance for an appointment via the pre-registration link or register in person on the day of the event. You also need to fill out the Patient Consent for Flu (Influenza) Immunization form. Paper copies of the Patient Consent form will be available on the day of the clinic.

Health and Safety

If you are a student, faculty or staff member and go to the pop-up clinic, you are required to follow OCAD U’s COVID-19 health and safety measures.

What does this mean? It means only fully vaccinated individuals who have submitted their proof of vaccination, or who have an approved exemption/accommodation and are participating in the rapid testing program, are permitted to enter OCAD University facilities.

Plus, before you head to the clinic, you must submit a self-assessment on the OCAD U Safe app or the alternative web page before entering the building.

What should I bring?
  • Your provincial health card.
  • Wear clothing that is loose enough for the sleeve to roll up easily.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Make sure to remain physically distanced from others.
What should I do after I get my flu shot?

As a precaution, you may be asked to remain in the building for up to 15 minutes, so the pharmacist can monitor you for any potential reactions.

What can I expect after my flu shot?
  • Most common side effects include soreness, redness and tenderness or swelling at the site of the injection.
  • Very rarely, you may experience a low-grade fever, headache or muscle aches. If these symptoms do not go away after 1-2 days, or get worse, contact your doctor.
