OCAD U’s Faculty of Art is pleased to announce a paid opportunity for up to 6 artists/designers to participate in the research workshop A Melted Snowman led by the acclaimed British artist, Ryan Gander. The workshop will focus on urban explorations and the production of interventions within the neighbourhoods surrounding the OCAD U campus and is scheduled to run between Wed. September 21 to Tues. September 27, 2022.

Lii Zoot Tayr (Other Worlds) is the third in a series of exhibitions curated by Amy Malbeuf and Jessie Ray Short exploring the work of Métis artists. In this iteration, the artists—Malbeuf, Suzanne Morrissette, Tannis Nielsen, Tiffany Shaw-Collinge, and Short—ground themselves within and move beyond the earth and solar system to ruminate on outer, inner, and deep space.
OCAD U GradEx Presents Creative Resilience / Resilient Creativity, Chancellor Jaime Watt’s Gallery, this exhibition showcases works by 20 emerging artists that explore themes related to living through a pandemic. Curated by OCAD U graduate Marilyn Adlington, an OCAD U MFA graduate who was the recipient of the OCAD U Medal and President’s Award for her thesis research project.

The Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce the inaugural Contemporary Textile Studio Artist Residency Career Launcher for students or recent grads (2021, 2022). One (1) successful applicant will be awarded a 9 week self-directed residency with Contemporary Textile Studio Cooperative ($550 value) which grants them access to the co-op’s studio, facilities and equipment. Mentorship from one to two studio members will be provided throughout the residency. Additionally, the CEAD will provide the selected artist with $300 to support the cost of materials and supplies during their residency. This is an amazing opportunity to become part of a larger creative community and gain access to the excellent multidisciplinary facilities that Contemporary Textile Studio Co-operative has to offer.

OCAD University’s RBC Centre for Emerging Artists & Designers is excited to announce a call for artists in partnership with Slate Asset Management. Slate Asset Management is seeking proposals for a rotating public art exhibit that will animate the lobby of 2 St. Clair West in the Yonge St. + St. Clair Avenue West community. Slate welcomes Drawing & Painting students graduating in 2022, working in all mediums to submit proposals. Slate is seeking medium to large-scale pieces to be displayed on two walls in the lobby. Slate’s rotating art program will occur two times a year.

Woodwriter is a 68-minute documentary that explores George's process - both analogue and digital - as well as his ideas and a flirtatious relationship across time with Hollywood superstar Mary Pickford.
