Artists, filmmakers, gamemakers, students, educators, and other creative explorers are increasingly engaging with volumetric images in their creative work. Speaking Volumes is a one-day online symposium (March 17th) that brings together a diverse array of creators working with volumetric capture (including volumetric video, photogrammetry and other emerging approaches), to share and celebrate this exciting work, and to offer new ways to think, capture, imagine, and envision through volumetric images. Our 2023 symposium brings together Canadian and international scholars, students and creative practitioners to re-envision the use, aesthetics, production and goals of volumetric creation, discuss potential solutions to key challenges, and spotlight a broader array of projects, technologies and creators.

This event will take place over Zoom and Youtube (please see the website and Eventbrite for the symposium schedule) and is free and open to the public.
