Space for Grief

Space for Grief

"Space for Grief" Returns - An Exploration of Community Healing through Immersive Public Art, Open to the Public Saturday November 4th - Saturday November 18th, 2023, 9am-5:30pm daily.

“Space for Grief” is an award-winning, public art installation that explores community bonding and healing through grief.  With a vision to foster empathy in the face of life’s transitions and losses, “Space for Grief” seeks to spark meaningful conversations and bolster support structures in our personal spheres, communities, and workplaces. As a placemaking initiative visitors are invited in to explore the multifaceted world of grief and its causes, expressions and supports. Industrial machinery and organic plant material create a surreal environment for reflection and meditation, while prompts guide visitors to reflect on experiences in their lives. Accompanying soundscapes, composed specifically for the installation, act as a soundtrack for one’s memories. “Space for Grief” is presented by Method Collective with collaborating artists, Rakat Zami, Calla Lee, Ziyan Hossain, Mimosa Haque and Fran Quintero Rawlings.

Toronto's 'Space for Grief' - immersive art installation has drawn thousands to Evergreen Brick Works, and has been extended to Nov. 18 due to incredible community response.

The installation will be open Nov. 16 until 8:30 p.m., and will be closed due to Evergreen Brick Works private events on Nov 14 and 15.
