In this workshop, artist Kendra Yee will go over important considerations and common questions for packaging and shipping artwork as she has learned from her own professional practice. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of how to approach the process, establish pricing, and how to communicate expectations with customers both online and in-person.

 

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Kendra Yee (b. 1995, Tkaronto/ Toronto) is an arts practitioner that seeks to materialize the truths and fictions of memory. Yee pulls tales from; personal stories, lived experience and collective narratives to develop site-specific installations that carve alternative archives. Yee has programmed and exhibited with: Patel Brown (Toronto), Heavy Manners (Los Angeles), The Artists Project (Toronto), Juxtapoz (NYC), The Letter Bet (Montreal), Xpace Cultural Centre (Toronto) and the upcoming artist in resident for the RBC Emerging Artist Program at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery (Spring 2024).

ACCESS NOTES:

  • This event is open to OCAD U students, alumni, and individuals who have taken/or are currently taking courses with OCAD U's School of Continuing Studies.
  • We will have a notetaker present as well as stim toys available for participants.
  • A meal will be provided as part of this event. We will provide tupperware for individuals who prefer to take food away at the end of the event.
  • OCAD U does not require masks on campus. As the decision to wear a mask is now one of individual choice, we ask that all members of the community demonstrate respect for those who continue to wear masks for health and safety reasons.
