Faculty of Art Student Town Hall with Guest Speaker Esmaa Mohamoud
To welcome the Spring season, the Faculty of Art is hosting a Student Town Hall with guest speaker and OCAD U Alumni Esmaa Mohamoud. Join us for pizza, refreshments, and exciting conversation!
Jana Macalik, Acting Dean of Art will lead a discussion with Esmaa, where she will share her artistic journey and perspective on contemporary art practice. Following the talk, the Dean will lead a Q&A and discussion with the audience. Through feedback and story sharing, this salon-style event aims to understand the student perspective of being in the Faculty of Art, as well as the student experience and understanding of contemporary art practice.

About Esmaa Mohamoud
Esmaa Mohamoud (Canadian, b. 1992), is a Toronto based African-Canadian artist. She holds a BFA from Western University (2014) and an MFA from OCAD University (2016). Recently, Mohamoud has exhibited in at the Museum of Arts and Design, New York, New York, the Albright-Knox, Buffalo, New York, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto, Canada, the National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, Canada, the Museum of Fine Arts Montreal, Montreal, Canada. Upcoming solo exhibitions include: Let Them Consume Me In The Light, Kavi Gupta Gallery, Chicago, Illinois, and To Play in the Face of Certain Defeat, travelling from Museum London to: Art Gallery of Hamilton, Ottawa Art Gallery and Winnipeg Art Gallery, and The Art Gallery of Alberta.
