Coffee Chat w/ Wenting Li

Coffee Chat Wenting

Coffee Chats is a series of casual gatherings with the CEAD team with industry guests. Hosted in small intimate groups, these gatherings will provide a space for group conversations with practitioners who are interested in supporting OCAD U students and grads to offer mentorship, and share their professional insights and journey, while collectively creating a community.
Wenting Li (she, they) is a muralist, artist and illustrator born in Sichuan, China, and working out of Tkaronto/ Toronto. Wenting’s practice includes large-scale murals, installation work for artist-run spaces including the plumb and Xpace Cultural Centre, and illustration for clients including The New York Times, The City of Toronto, Twitter, and Macmillan. As an extension of their artistic practice, they are also engaged with youth arts programming through Young Voices (Toronto Public Library) and Story Planet. Wenting’s work is especially interested in the subtleties of complementing diversity in story with representation and image, sharing narratives both everyday and profound.
