"Ascension is a new abstracted series of collage work. The imagery explores the idea of the feminine returning to equity within our societal structures and our psychic spaces. Sova is interested in the knowledges of many spiritual stories around the world, which speak to the idea of a matriarchal return during the period we are living in now. Through vibrant symbols, dynamic colour patterns, and references to space and land, Ascension presents an optimistic and hopeful rise in opposition to backlash against gender equity."
